A Minor in Russian consists of 20 credits after completing pre-requisite RUS 1- 2- 3 or RUS 410 for heritage speakers:
- RUS 100, 200, and RUS 401 (11 credits)
- RUS 144 and RUS 145
- ONE additional 100-level RUS course: (3 credits)
- TWO additional 400-level RUS courses: RUS 400, RUS 401, RUS 402, RUS 403, RUS 404, RUS 405, RUS 406, RUS 412, RUS 460 (6 credits)
A grade C or better is required for all courses in the minor!
A Minor in East European Studies requires a minimum of 22 credits of language and area studies courses after completing pre-requisite RUS 1-2, or UKR 1-2, or POL 1-2:
- RUS 100 and RUS/UKR/POL 3 or RUS 410 (6/7 credits)
- Language courses: RUS 200 and RUS 401, or UKR/POL 1-2, or RUS 1-2-3, (7/8/12 credits)
- Additional courses in language, literature, history, and/or culture: any combination of ARTH 420, ECON 472, HIST 105, HIST 118, HIST 121, HIST 141, HIST 142, HIST 143, HIST 186, HIST 402N, HIST 423, HIST 426, HIST 430, HIST 433, HIST 434, HIST 439, JST 121, JST 147, JST 426, JST 439, JST 452, PLSC 452, RLST 452, RUS 101N, RUS 141, RUS 142, RUS 143, RUS 144, RUS 145, all 400-level RUS courses, UKR 100, WMNST 439, and other courses approved by the program (9/8/7/3 credits); important note: students pursuing Track 1 option (RUS 1-3, RUS 200, and RUS 401) cannot take more than 3 credits in RUS in this category!
