A Major in Russian requires 29 credits after completing pre-requisite RUS 1- 2- 3 or RUS 410 for heritage speakers:

  • RUS 200, RUS 401, RUS 405, and RUS 420 (14 credits)
  • TWO literature and culture courses taught in English: RUS 100 and RUS 141 or RUS 142 (6 credits)
  • THREE additional courses in language, literature, and/or culture: RUS 402, RUS 403, RUS 404, RUS 406, RUS 412, RUS 406 (9 credits)

A grade C or better is required for all courses in the major!

Honors in Russian Requirements:

  • a minimum of a B+ average in courses offered for the major
  • presentation of an outstanding honors thesis during the senior year
