Çiğdem Begği Alrawi is currently a Ph.D. student in German Literature and culture. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in German Language and Literature from Hacettepe University, Türkiye, and a second Bachelor of Arts in German Studies from The Pennsylvania State University.

Before pursuing her doctoral studies, she taught German, English and Turkish in Türkiye for eight years.

Alrawi’s research interests include German literature and culture, transnationalism, radio plays, Turkish and Arab literature in Germany, comparative literature, migration and exile studies, identity, memory, multilingualism, and intercultural relations.

In addition to her academic research, Alrawi is engaged in writing literary works in German, English and Turkish.
