Minors in Russian
The Russian minor is designed for students who want to study the language, literature, and culture of Russia in order to broaden their horizons and meet an increasing demand for people with foreign language skills and international expertise. Russian is a major world language with a rich cultural and scientific heritage. It is spoken throughout the former Soviet Union and widely understood in the countries of Eastern Europe.

The Russian Area Studies minor is an interdisciplinary program supervised by the Center for Russian and East European Studies and the Department of Slavic and East European Languages designed to combine a regional specialization with an academic disciplinary major. The minor helps prepare students for further academic work in the Russian area at the graduate level or to pursue careers as area specialists in commerce, industry, journalism, education, and various governmental and international agencies.
