Eleonora K. Adams

Dr. Adams teaches German and Russian at Penn State Abington, but holds her tenure in the German Department at University Park. She received her Ph.D. from University of Pennsylvania, with a comparative study of Franz Werfel and Lev Tolstoy. Her scholarship includes publications and conference presentations on Werfel, Tolstoy, Hoffmannsthal Arthur Schnitzler and Mychaylo Kotziubynskyj, as well as several aspects of Russian and Ukrainian literature. Her current research is focused on a group of post WWII German rocket scientists, who while living an isolated life in Russia, had created an intellectual life (apart from their professional life) for themselves and their families on the secluded island of Gorodomlya.
