Adrian Wanner Named Liberal Arts Research Professor of Slavic Languages and Comparative Literature

Congratulations to Adrian Wanner, who has been named Liberal Arts Research Professor of Slavic Languages and Comparative Literature.  Professor Wanner is the author of three monographs and numerous articles in the areas of Russian and comparative literature. His most recent monograph is Out of Russia: Fictions of a New Translingual Diaspora with Northwestern University Press. It is a pioneering work on Russian transnational literature that has arisen in the 21st century in the wake of the Russian diaspora. Adrian is also a prolific translator of poetry. He has published six volumes of Russian, Ukrainian and Romanian poetry in his German verse translation. From 2001-2008, Professor Wanner served as head of the Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures.
