The German teaching option is designed to prepare students for the teaching of German in secondary schools. The number of elective credits enables students to study an additional foreign language, thus enhancing their teaching opportunities. Students planning to teach in public schools should schedule the appropriate courses leading to certification in consultation with an advisor in the College of Education. For the Pennsylvania teaching certificate, 41 additional credits, which includes the 15 credits of student teaching, are required.
